Thanks for your question. This could be due to your firewall settings and usually then the problem will occur for everyone who connects through the same firewall. Maybe it has been updated recently?

Try opening up for Netviewer in your firewall. I don't know if you administer it yourself or if you have a company IT dept, but this is what we recommend that you open up your firewall to:

Server-Addresses and IP-Addresses of Netviewer:

nv-projectplace-vms01.netviewer.com IP 82.98.68.84
nv-projectplace-vms02.netviewer.com IP 82.98.68.92
nv-projectplace-vms03.netviewer.com IP 62.146.40.120

Port 80 needed and Port 2000 recommended

How can I inform people in the project, not logged in, that a new comment was added to the discussion forum?

Thanks for your question. When you post something in conversations there is an option to let people know by email. You can also @reference specific people who might need to know about the post or comment and then an email will be sent to those people. You can watch a film about @referencing here:

This problem is usually caused by the dpi settings on your computer. Please check that your dpi is set as in the attached screen shot and the PowerTab should start behaving normally.

Thanks for your question. There is no way of changing the numering for the tasks in Projectplace.

If you want to use a proprietary system you can start the name of the task with your own numbering so that it's included.

Error?: Firefox and document version - three questions...

Thanks for your question(s). I'm glad that you feel happy with your choice of browers:)

Answers:
1)If the documents are put under version control you should have a version number behind the name of the file. Typically the first version will be 0.1.

You can update the file by downloading it to your computer, editing and then using the "replace" option on the menu that shows up when you click next to a document i Projectplace. This will create a new version of the document, e.g. 0.2.

To see all the versions of a document, go back into the version management and you'll get a list of all the versions.

2) You can install the plug-in for firefox. Drag and drop doesn't work, but you should certainly be able to click on, open, edit, and save back your documents with he integrated version management working:

3) My personal recommendation is that you use the poduct that you find best suited for your needs and personal preference:)

This can have to do with the firewall-settings, the following information will be needed by the system administrator to enter in the firewall:

How to report time per "issue" rather than "task" ?

In order to successfully instal the Projectplace Plug-in on a computer you need to be logged in as local administrator.

If you are and the problem persists check if there is an older version of Projectplace Plug-in installed on the computer. Please uninstall the old version and reboot before attempting to instal again.

Where are temporary files saved locally'

Hi Dan,

The file is indeed stored temporarily on your hard drive. Usually is stored in C:/Users/[localaccountname]/AppData/Local/Temp

But it could also be stored in the local word temp directory.

Sometimes if you open word again it will automatically restore the file you were working on when it crashed

Why can I not copy a document link in the clipboard with the Firefox plugin

This i due to limitations in the webbrowser.
As a workaound you can still use the copy link commando and then paste the link back into PP. Finally under properties for the link in the URL-field you find the document link and may copy it and use it outside PP.

Invite a person to a existing meeting

Yes that is possible.
1. Open the meeting in question.
2. In the view that opens, you can click on the "participants" link to the left of the list of currently invited people.
3. A new view will open, with the option of adding (and removing) people to the meeting.

Why dosn't ÅÄÖ work when i download with zip(OS X) i works fine with Windows.?

I have just tried the function compress & retrieve under OS X. I could download the documents without any problems but when I opened the folder the letters "ÅÄÖ" have been replaced by other special characters. Is this the same for you? I will report this as a bug to our development team.

How to change the head administrator

Replacing the Head Administrator of a project without their permission (i.e. if they have left the company) is possible - via invoice.

You must obtain a copy of the most recent invoice from us and add some instructions:
Please state "Change the Head Administrator of project xxxxxxx from xxxxx xxxxx (include email address) to xxxxx xxxxx (include email address)".

The new Head Administrator must have a Projectplace user account and must be an administrator in the project in order for us to implement this change. This invoice document must also be signed with full name and contact information, then faxed to our head office in Stockholm on +46 8 586 302 01. Alternatively a scanned document via email is acceptable (support@projectplace.com).

Once we have validated that this is in line with our security policy the change will be made. You will subsequently be notified.

N.B An Administrator in the project can retrieve the invoices via Project Overview --> Administration --> Payment History (a little icon next to "Terminate Project")
N.B The previous Head Administrator will then be defaulted to a 'normal' project administrator.

macro-enabled excel

Macro-enabled Excel-files are not supported by the Projectplace Plugin. The easiest workaround is to drag and drop the file to the desktop, modify it, and then drag and drop the modified version back to Projectplace or upload it with the "Replace" function.

Which Projectplace link are you referring to where you can only open the read-only version?

Write function is not working when you send a document for review?

Thanks for your question. Many things can cause this here are some examples:
1. The document is signed (marked by a yellow/gold lock in the document list in Projectplace)
2. The document is locked (marked by a grey lock in the document list in Projectplace)
3. The reviewer is not a member of the project. Non-members can participate in document reviews and enter comments but can not edit the document.
4. The reviewer is a member but part of a group that does not have write access to the folder where the document is.
5. The reviewer does not have write access to the temp files on her or his computer.
6. The reviewer does not have the appropriate application for editing the document and it opens in a viewer instead.

I hope one of these answers will help you, if not please let me know some more detail of the problem and I will try to help you further.

How do I recall my activity report to edit information?

It is not possible to recall, edit or resend activity reports.

You can, however, make changes via Time Reporting (click on your own name in the upper left corner of the screen).

If you need to make changes in Tasks itself, you´d need to contact the administrator of the project who then can make these changes for you.

Thanks for your question. As you have already realised we do only export one contact at a time as vCard. You can probably use the excel output to import multiple contacts through .csv.
