Email into Documents?

Hi Rune,

To do that you need to first create a file of the email by, for example, dragging and dropping it onto your desktop. The file created can then be uploaded to Projectplace.

Thanks for your question. The easiest way for you to share them with the rest of your project team would be to send/forward them to the project's inbox in Issues. To find the email address for your project please go to the Issues tab and then the tab Inbox. At he top of the list you will find the email address. Any emails forwarded to the address will show up here, including attachments.

How can I create a report? e.g. Issue status over last couple months

Hi Horst,

In Issues there is no reporting function. You can only get snapshots of the current situation by performing different types of searches. These can be exported to excel and saved for record.

The Task tool has reporting functionality and is designed for work that is planned in time.

Why can't we upload a .pptx document, while it works with .ppt (size of document 64MB) ?

Re: From Projectplace Support- Files over 6O MB must be uploaded by single upload which you reach by clicking the link "Problems? Try the single file upload in the "Upload documents view". For Projectplace the filetype is not important.

Can I minimize power tab so it does not show up on my extended monitor

Hello again Jan

After some further investigation on this matter, I've found that if you have your monitors set up "top oriented", rather than "side by side", this can cause the tab (genväger), to move to the "top" screen when you minimize the PowerTab.
It has been reported before as a feature-fix in Ideas, which you can vote for here:

I hope this at least explains the behaviour of the PowerTab on your monitors.

Is it possible to set settings such that clicking ona directory shows the second tab (documents)?

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your question. You can create shortcuts to most places in your project that shows up on your overview when you log in and also in the powertab, if you have that installed.

To create a shortcut go to the place that you want to have a shortcut to, for examplt the Document tab of your project.

In the toolbar at the far right there is a "add this page to my shortcuts" button, click it.

Your new shortcut will sow up on the overview that you get when you log in or by clicking on your name in the system.

Download the whole folderstructure

Thanks for your question. To download the whole structure, please do as follows:

1. Mark the whole structure by clicking the "all" box at the top of the list in documents.
2. Go to "Share" on the toolbar and select "Compress ans Retrieve"
3. The whole structure will be downloaded as a zip to your loval computer. You can select whether you want to include all versions of version managed documents.

Excel files, from xls to xlsx?

Thanks for your question. The reason that you retain the old file extension is that the file type is the same for all versions in Projectplace. In order to change the file type, please click to the right of the file name to open the menu and click on Properties. Here you can change the file type to excel 2007. This should solve your problem, please let me know:)

Can I filter what information is issued on Weekly Reports

There is no way for you to change the contents of the weekly report for yourself or your members. You can only choose whether you want to receive it or not for a specific project and as an administrator, whether it should be sent out at all. Members will only see activities for information that they have access to.

Why can't I open links to PP documents when someone sends it to me? It routes me to My Overview all the time.

Hi Sabina,

Thanks for your question. First of all, make sure that the entire link is copied. To do this, try copying the link manually from your email client to your web browser. It should be one long line with no line breaks or spaces. Intuitively and without having looked at the problem closer, I think that your mail client might add line breaks or spaces or some other formatting to the link and therefore the link is not working.

If cutting and pasting (and removing spaces) works, please contact your it department to see if they can solve the fact that your email client adds formatting to links. Otherwise please let me know and we'll continue troubleshooting.

Thanks for your question. If the input field is blank you should still be able to edit (as admin). Just move your mouse to just underneath the name and you should get a clickable area. If it still doesn't work, please provide a screen shot so I can look at the error.

Hi Marit,

Thanks for your question. We do not support that level of access rights for people. You can choose to make the tool "not visible" but your members will still be able to see each other if they for instance post on the project overview or make changes in joint documentation. This is a quite common request but right now we have no plans to change the way we do access rights. To ensure that your partners don't see each other's documents, but still can upload, there are a couple of ways you can set up within the current access rights system.
1. You can create a public web site which is password protected and put the shared documents there. The people with access can then email to the Issues in the project and you can copy paste from there. This can work well in, e.g. procurements.
2. You can create a project template with a knowledge base where you keep joint documents. These can be updated by you when needed. Each partner will need a separate project created from the template in which you work together with them.

Hi Axel,

the functionality "Sitzungsaufzeichnung" can only be started if you invite other participants to the online meeting. It isn't possible to record only with the online meeting tool. Maybe there are other tools you can get for free via the internet which allow you to record your screen.

How come I get swedish in the "priority" pulldown in Issue all other has the language i choosed (english)?

If the project was based on a template that was made in the Swedish interface, the different priorities can appear in Swedish.
Even if you have your interface in English.
